Mary has had an ear infection so I have been giving her the dreaded bubblegum flavored medicine. One of Mary's many talents is being able to spew the stuff five feet into the air. So when she had to take the horrid concoction for the second time in her life I had our ritual down pact. I found our ugly towel to shield our carpet from the fountian of pink gue. Place Mary on it and then wait for the impending screams. Once you get a good loud open mouth scream I would quickly jam my finger into her mouth. With my finger keeping her mouth open I would then insert the seringe and inject the pink medicine into her grawling mouth. At which point she would spit it back at me. Until one day we discovered that she LIKED to give it to herself. Sure the wicked taste still made her shutter, but she loved being a big girl. Just watch how painless this ritual became once she could give it to her self.
