Tales of our tiny family.
Okay, so I know that all I do is post photos of Mary. But I told Jon that once I had a baby I would photograph all the time--so now I have to live up to it. Because I have a lot of time I have thought about taking up some stock photography. I'll see if I can get these photos of Mary up and making some money. It's about time Mary started to earn her keep. I know that I'm her mom, but I just think she is the cutest!
Here are some photos from Mary's first non-sponge bath. The Doctor said she only need a bath around twice a week and it was definably time for Mary to have a bath. We decided that we would give her a bath before taking her out to Julie's house for Jack's birthday. We thought it was important that she smelled nice when she meet her aunts, uncles and cousins.
We finally recieved all the parts for our stroller and Grandpa Reed put it all together for us. Grandpa and Grandma Reed were kind enough to take Mary for the evening and let Jon and I have a date. While we were out Grandpa put the final touches of the stroller together. Being the yougest child on both sides Jon and I have been very spoiled with all of the hand me down items. Lori gave us this stroller and I love it because it is super light wieght and folds up really nice and little. It also fits the car seat that my sister-in-law Karen gave us. The photos show how cranky Mary was when we first went on our walk and how asleep she was when we returned. The slumber didn't last long, though, she is up and wide eyed and crying now. Oh, well. Maybe it means she will sleep tonight. Last night she was an angel for the grandparents, but decided to show her devlish side to us around bedtime.
As Mary grows, she looks more an more cute as her different facial features "fill-in." She has been a lot of fun, and she's been a good baby (at least I'm told) with regard to sleeping, crying, eating, etc. It was kind of weird to answer the phone from the hospital and have someone ask me "are you Mary's father?" I sure don't feel like a parent.
Anyway, let's get to the good part, the photos. We just snapped these with out point-and-shoot, on a whim, but we thought that people would like to see the cross-eyed, and non cross-eyed faces that Mary makes. Our pediatrician assures us that going cross eyed is very normal for a baby this young, so we're not worried yet.

We need to dress her in more pink or put a bow in her hair or something so that everyone is clear that she's a little girl, but we think she's totally precious.
That cross-eyed picture is a classic.

Shortly after moving to Logan in August, we purchased a Philips indoor TV antenna from Wal Mart for about 10 dollars. After much experimentation we assumed that we could only get Univision (Spanish language channel) with a very poor signal.
Tonight I hooked a wire up to the TV and then realized that I got better reception with a 15 foot length of coax, than I did with my fancy antenna, and so it was off to Wal Mart again. There was a selection of more Philips antennas ranging in price from 10-40 dollars.
I quickly selected the only non-Philips antenna I could find--an RCA that cost $8.99. Long story short, we now have Fox, KJazz, NBC, and a great signal on Univision. To think I could have been rotting my brain with television for the last 9 months is totally bumming me out. At least we have TV now.

So http://becky.ravenberg.com is no more, and we are moving onto a new site. We appreciate the Eckmans for hosting that site for us while they did. Hopefully this will be a more permanent home for us. I also hope that we can keep people better posted on our progress.
So life changed for us pretty dramatically on April 12th of this year when we welcomed little Mary into our home. She was 19 inches long and 8 pounds 6 ounces. We are so happy that she is healthy. It's been quite an adjustment to have a baby in the home. She has been a joy to have around, and has slept remarkably well during the night given that she's just a week old.

We're still living in Logan and enjoying our time here. We expect to be here until early August.
This fall Jon will start law school at the University of Utah. We plan to move to Salt Lake City proper (into on-campus housing if possible.) We're excited to know where we'll be for the next 3 years.
